How my art journey started.

                     Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and raised in Yahualica, Jalisco, a beautiful town rich in artisanal tradition. Mercado's early training was hands-on, encompassing a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, wood, metal, and carved stone. This foundation in practical craftsmanship, rooted in his youth, was later refined through formal studies at a college. This unique upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for process and a conviction to pursue the creative path that has guided his work ever since.

Mercado's creative process is a unique blend of traditional techniques and modern technology. Each piece begins with personal photography, which he uses as a digital blueprint to develop the composition. Such an approach allows him to experiment with abstract and surrealist styles before ever touching the canvas. The final work is brought to life using acrylic paints, balancing careful planning with creative improvisation. Through this dual process, Mercado aims to create art where time has stopped, portraying a feeling of permanence and stillness.

Mercado's work has achieved international recognition, featured in publications such as Milan Weekly Magazine and Artist Close Up. His pieces have been recognized and displayed in local venues in various locations, including college and community art programs, culminating in the successful debut of his solo exhibition, The Geometry of Intention. This marks a significant milestone in his emerging career.
